Premier League week 8: Chelsea 3-0 Leicester City

This season could be very long for the Foxes following last-year’s historic run and the Premier League trophy. The team sits and in the bottom half of the table and does not seem to have answers away from its bases. LCFC suffered the 4th consecutive away loss this season while Chelsea is only three points behind the leaders. Both coaches react on the game:

Antonio Conte – Chelsea FC coach:

“In the first half we played a very good game with high intensity, good passing and finding the attackers between the lines. We created many chances to score and we were aggressive when we lost the ball.

Today I’m pleased because I saw the things we have been working on this week. Above all I’m pleased for the players because when you work so hard during the week it’s logical you want to see a good result and a good game.

I changed the system because when you arrive at a new team you need time to study the right fit for the team. After we conceded a lot of goals I decided to change before the Hull game. When I see my players during the week working this way I’m very calm.”

Claudio Ranieri – Leicester City FC:

“We conceded the first two goals, very strange goals and again one on the corner. Too many goals we concede on the corner. We spoke a lot about this. The second goal was a ricochet. It’s unbelievable that this happens every time. After, we got back in the match, the second half was better and we created some good chances but they scored a very good goal.

I can say only thank you to our fans. Always when we win or when we lose, they push us all the time. They are fantastic, thank you so much to them. “I was thinking also about the Champions League. Today we had a very good, well-organized team. I wanted my players to be fresh because the Champions League is now. Copenhagen is a tougher match than today. They are very organized, strong and we must be concentrated.”
